Gold Coast March 2021 - DAY 2

Image
HAPPY 40th BIRTHDAY AMAN! Our YES day! I am so very blessed to be married to this fabulous man. The best partner and father I could have wished for! It shows how much I love you if I agreed to come to GC with you and be on crazy rollercoasters with you (even though I don't enjoy them as much as you, lol)!  Here's Day 2, probably the most happening day on our trip. Read through to get to the vLog. We woke up and realised the views were even more breath-taking than we believed at night. We all woke up early and just sat there soaking in the views. Then we did a little celebration for breakfast for Aman. And this was our first day to avail our 3-day pass to Dreamworld/Whitewater World, and since the waterpark is only open Thursday to Sunday, our only day to be at the waterpark. SO we went to Whitewater World and enjoyed only about an hour of actually using the attractions when the weather turned for the worse and thunderstorms and lightening struck. So the rides and slides were ...

The Very Special Interstate Holiday - Gold Coast March 2021 - Day 1

Image
For the past year and a quarter we've been restricted and actually locked-down in our countries, states and homes, courtesy Covid-19. So this March, for my dear husband Aman's FORTIETH, we finally managed to get away. To Gold Coast, probably his favourite destination, for the thrill of the amusement parks!  The most exciting bit for me was getting on the airplane and flying high! Am obviously still eagerly awaiting being on an airplane home to mum and dad in India. But this was liberating and such an exciting experience nonetheless.  We left from Melbourne on the evening of Saturday, 20th March 2021 and returned on the night of Wednesday, 24th March 2021. I've tried to log all the 5 days of the trip to share our experience with family and friends. So watch out for all the individual Day Vlogs and let us know if you liked them. The first in the series is of course DAY 1 - the day we flew from Melbourne to Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta), checked into our accommodation and s...

The Year 2020!

Image
2020. What a year it has been. In the future when people say the year was 2020, anyone and everyone across the world will know it was a year of hardship, uncertainty and suffering. There is no corner of the world which has been untouched by this natural (well or manmade, I am not getting into conspiracy theories here) phenomenon. A disease, a virus that affects all, young or old, rich or poor, in a developed country or developing country. Like it goes with everything, some countries, cities and people are better equipped to deal with it and some not. And of course some choose not to deal with it even if they are equipped, but I suppose that is a political discussion within those countries.  But irrespective of your means, your age, your pre-existing conditions, this virus still seems to have a random pattern of natural selection. Yes, by now its a known fact, that it attacks those with a compromised immune system harder. So be it people that are aged or people with pre-existing con...

The Love I Feel For You!

Image
The day of love, they say is Valentines To show your love, for the love of your life But how do I express, the lifetime of love In all but one day, when it is in fact in every single day Flowers and presents, lavish dinners and frills Is not what proves our love for each other It is the tiny little things of everyday That say how you love me and me you Love is felt and is not shown By the way you look at me The way you play the balancing act And let me be completely me Love is in our cheesy fights, of screaming and making up When you say no more and just come up with a warm hug Its in the duties that you take upon yourself Like feeding the dog, or the kids and I Mowing the lawns or putting the bins out Packing the school lunches and even fixing mine For not waking me up and letting me snooze When I am tired and doze off during the day For understanding my needs, today and always I love you today and I love you everyday For being my pillar of support Wheth...

Heya, I am back!

Heya peeps! Long time, and no see. I've been lost. In a world of chaos, of family trips and household routines. Of kids school and activities. Community and their well-being. And now I am taking the time for my own. I am making a conscious effort to break free from the rutt and spend some time with my thoughts. To organise them and then try to bounce back and record them here including all the mum thoughts, the parenting, the fun and activities with kids and all else that may arise from it all. Hoping to be more active in journaling here for noone else, but me. World beware, I am on a path to find myself.

Sharpie Shoes Hack

Another popular school holiday activity / hack is the sharpie shoes. So we thought we'd give it a go too.

Diwali - The Festival of Lights

Image
Diwali or Deepavali (deep - earthen lamps and avali - row of) is the biggest and most popular festival of Hinduism. It symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. It is celebrated on the new moon day of the Kartik month of the Hindu lunar calendar which usually falls between mid October and Mid November. Historically, there are many legends to the origins of Diwali. Some believe it is the celebration of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi’s birthday - the goddess of wealth, fortune and prosperity. Diwali also commemorates the return of Lord Rama from his 14 year long exile back to his kingdom Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman after vanquishing the demon-king Ravana. On their return, the kingdom of Ayodhya was illuminated with earthen lamps and festivities to welcome their lord. In the modern day, Diwali is celebrated with a lot of pomp and show. On the day, people clean and decorate their homes, dress up in their best outfi...
