The Very Special Interstate Holiday - Gold Coast March 2021 - Day 1

For the past year and a quarter we've been restricted and actually locked-down in our countries, states and homes, courtesy Covid-19. So this March, for my dear husband Aman's FORTIETH, we finally managed to get away. To Gold Coast, probably his favourite destination, for the thrill of the amusement parks! 

The most exciting bit for me was getting on the airplane and flying high! Am obviously still eagerly awaiting being on an airplane home to mum and dad in India. But this was liberating and such an exciting experience nonetheless. 

We left from Melbourne on the evening of Saturday, 20th March 2021 and returned on the night of Wednesday, 24th March 2021. I've tried to log all the 5 days of the trip to share our experience with family and friends. So watch out for all the individual Day Vlogs and let us know if you liked them.

The first in the series is of course DAY 1 - the day we flew from Melbourne to Gold Coast Airport (Coolangatta), checked into our accommodation and settled into the awesome beach views.


It was a weird experience travelling with masks on the airplane. Although kids were not required to wear them, we requested them to for their own safety, and they were actually excited about wearing them as this was the first time we got them to wear them since all this started. The first day was primarily reaching Hilton Residences, Surfers Paradise, our home for the 5 days and setting up for Aman's birthday the next day. We were placed right on the Surfers Paradise central retail precinct, so were spoiled for dining and take-away options and made the most of it.

The Flubber Gak

Tuesdays are always troubling at our place as its the first day of the week at the childcare inor the kiddos and they are really tired after a full day of play there....but since Anya has been eagerly awaiting making n playing with 'gak' for a few days now..she was eager to get to it as soon as we entered the house... It was by far the most fun n intriguing activity we've done so far....even for Anam! Although he couldn't make the gak...he did have his share of playing with the strange slushy slippery yuk! Of course under strict supervision! For the fun n excitement that it has provided ..this is a really simple project... Diwali - The Festival of Lights

Diwali or Deepavali (deep - earthen lamps and avali - row of) is the biggest and most popular festival of Hinduism. It symbolises the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.
