When the fav jeans/ pants becomes the fav shorts

So Anya had this favorite denim she loved and sadly grew out of. Just the length though.. the waist n fitting was perfect... But she made me put it in the corner of her wardrobe.."don't charity it mumma" she said! 
So it was just lying there for weeks... until this weekend. I went to get a shorts for her n couldn't find one...Of course they were either washing or drying or waiting to be ironed...n instead I got my hands on this jeans taking up valuable realestate.. Lol !

So I took it to Anya and asked her if she wanted to MAKE a NEW shorts...and those 2 words there got her extremely excited!

And so we got out a pair of scissors and She told me how short she wanted her shorts...we experimented really... first cut it to knee length... Then she tried... n then got me to make it a shorty shorts ! 

And then of course began the fashion show... showing off the new outfit ..with the accessories (the remaining legs) lol!

And then looking at what fun Anya was having.. Anam wanted his own shorts n accessories... So we went looking for a pants he'd grown out of...n did the same for him... :)

It was fun n we have new shorts for both kiddies... they grow out of clothes too quickly I say...recycle n reuse! :)

The Flubber Gak

Tuesdays are always troubling at our place as its the first day of the week at the childcare inor the kiddos and they are really tired after a full day of play there....but since Anya has been eagerly awaiting making n playing with 'gak' for a few days now..she was eager to get to it as soon as we entered the house... It was by far the most fun n intriguing activity we've done so far....even for Anam! Although he couldn't make the gak...he did have his share of playing with the strange slushy slippery yuk! Of course under strict supervision! For the fun n excitement that it has provided ..this is a really simple project... Supplies needed... 1) 3 cups warm water 2.) 2 cups white PVA glue 3) 2 tsp Borax (found in the laundry n cleaning isle in the local supermarket) 4) Watercolors in the desired shade 5) Glitter (optional) 6) a big bowl & a small container  1.
